A Guide to the Best Farmers Markets in Louisville, Kentucky

Early mornings with a coffee in hand and tables filled with local produce are one of our favorite ways to begin a weekend in Louisville. Whether you’re planning a chill weekend, hosting friends, or simply looking for something fun to do around the city, visiting one of Louisville’s farmers markets is one of our favorite ways to experience the community.

We’ve rounded up some of the best farmers markets in Louisville to explore this upcoming spring and summer season.

Douglass Loop Farmers Market

Located in the heart of the Highlands, Douglass Loop Farmers Market is one of Louisville’s most popular seasonal markets. Open Saturdays from spring through late fall, this market brings together local farmers, bakers, coffee vendors, and artisans in a lively, welcoming setting.

Pro tip: Street parking is the way to go for this one. There are plenty of side streets where you can park, so you shouldn’t have a hard time finding a spot, though you may have to walk a little.

You’ll find fresh fruits and vegetables, farm-raised meats, local honey, breads, jams, and small-batch specialty foods. It’s the kind of place where you can do your weekly grocery shopping while also running into neighbors and enjoying live music.

If you want a classic Louisville Saturday morning experience, this is it.

Bardstown Road Farmers Market

This year-round market has been a Louisville staple since 1991, hosting dozens of vendors offering locally grown and made products.

Open every Saturday morning, this market is perfect if you want consistent access to fresh produce, even in the cooler months. It’s smaller and more intimate, making it easy to stop by and grab what you need.

St. Matthews Farmers Market

The St. Matthews Farmers Market is a community favorite, located right outside of Beargrass Christian Church. There is usually a lot of parking available and it’s walkable from the neighboring streets! Featuring over 70 vendors and a fantastic selection of produce, baked goods, and flowers.

Open Saturdays from May through September, it’s a wonderful option for families and anyone looking to enjoy a relaxed, neighborhood atmosphere.

East End Farmers Market

If you need more flexibility, the East End Farmers Market offers multiple market days throughout the week and operates year-round with both summer and winter markets.

This farmers market is located on Factory Lane in the parking lot of the Grace Evangelical Church.

You’ll find everything from fresh produce and meats, to handmade goods and specialty foods.

Perfect for: Busy schedules and convenient weekday shopping.

Gray Street Farmers Market

Located downtown, the Gray Street Farmers Market is ideal for those working and living downtown.

This market was created to increase access to fresh, local food and features produce, baked goods, lunch options, and artisan items.

Logan Street Market

While technically an indoor public market, Logan Street Market offers a similar experience year-round with local vendors, fresh foods, and handmade items.

It’s a great option if you want the farmers market experience regardless of weather.

Farmers markets remind us that food and community goes hand in hand.

When you shop local, you’re investing in Kentucky farms, small businesses, and the people who work hard to keep our city thriving. And you get amazing, seasonal items in return.

If you’re looking for an easy way to enjoy Louisville this season, start at a farmers market. It’s a small thing that can truly make such a difference!
